School Meals

At South Petherwin Primary School our school dinners are provided by Aspens (please see their latest menu below).  Aspens are a highly  successful catering company.  They specialise in providing catering services to schools and colleges across the UK.   Established in April 2008 by catering professionals with a shared passion for great food, they value good food, champion quality produce and provide impeccable customer service and satisfaction.

Our school aims to promote and encourage balanced eating habits and a healthy lifestyle from an early age. We are therefore pleased that Aspens' menu supports the core theme of healthy eating within the Healthy Schools programme. Dishes are freshly prepared and cooked on site and the recipes are developed to ensure that they are of the highest nutritional standards.  

As a school, we believe that when children eat better they achieve better.   Whether families are paying for school meals or are entitled to them for free, children are more likely to concentrate in the classroom after eating healthy school lunches.  In the last few years we have became the proud owners of a compact, but state of the art kitchen which enables us to cook on site. Our school meals have proved to be very popular and have definitely got the thumbs up from the children (and staff!).

Menu

The cost of a school dinner is £2.50 a day and payment can be made by BACs. cash or cheque (all cheques should be made payable to 'South Petherwin School').  The children order their lunch daily and as you can see by the menu there is an excellent choice.
