South Petherwin Pre-School
Hi, my name is Natalie Bewes and I would like to introduce myself as the Pre-school Manager.
I am really looking forward to taking on this new challenge and cannot wait to provide an exciting and inviting environment for the children.
I was previously the nursery manager of Coombe Valley Nursery several years ago until I took a break in my career to have children. I now have 2 daughters of my own who both attend South Petherwin School and so I am extremely familiar with the school and the staff and I felt that it was the right time for me to return to Early Years.
We are open now as part of the school and this will be key to forming strong links with the Reception class in particular, when transitioning to school. The school is already an important part of the community and the pre-school will extend this further to the younger children within the village and surrounding areas. We will also have opportunities to use the school environment indoors & outdoors which will extend the learning opportunities for the children.
We are currently providing the following sessions for 2, 3 & 4 year olds.
Monday to Friday
Morning session - 8:45am - 11:45 am
Afternoon session - 12:15pm- 3:15pm
Lunch club - 11:45am -12:15pm with the option of a cooked meal from the school.
Prices:
£4.50 per hour.
£2.25 for lunch club, you can order a school meal each morning if required for £2.50.
If you wish to come and have a look around or have any questions please contact us on 01566 776363

From September 2025, the government-funded childcare offer for eligible working families will expand from 15 hours to 30 hours per week. This expanded entitlement will apply from the term after a child turns 9 months old until they start school.
Reconfirmation for 30 Hours Funding
Parents currently receiving 15 hours of free childcare for working families must reconfirm their eligibility at the usual time to keep their code valid. This same code will allow them to claim 30 hours of funded childcare starting from the autumn term 2025.
Eligibility Reminder
Please note: not all children will be eligible for the 30 hours of funded childcare.
To qualify, parents must:
Meet the working family eligibility criteria,
Hold a valid 11-digit funding code.
